Distance Reiki

Sometimes you want Reiki without having to go anywhere.

Maybe we live far apart.

Maybe you're recovering from something, caring for someone else, or simply more comfortable in your own home.

Distance Reiki allows us to work together without being in the same room.

Within the Reiki tradition, distance healing is understood as a way of offering Reiki beyond physical proximity.

I connect with you energetically during our scheduled time, just as I would if you were here in person.

Why I Love Distance Reiki

One of the things I love most about distance Reiki is that our personalities are completely out of the picture.

We're not sitting across from each other talking, reading body language, or trying to make sense of what's happening.

For me, that allows for a different kind of connection.

I find that I can tune in more deeply on an energetic and spiritual level, without the distractions that sometimes comes with being together in person.

In my experience, the information I receive during distance sessions often feels clearer, and the healing energy seems to flow more directly.

I've come to really appreciate this way of working, and I don't consider distance Reiki a lesser version of an in-person session.

In many ways, I prefer it.

Do I Need to Be Available During My Session?

No. While you are welcome to set the time aside, get comfortable, put on some music, and intentionally receive your session not everyone can afford that time.

Some people enjoy doing that and others go about their day.

You don't need to meditate, visualize anything, or try to feel the Reiki. You might be sleeping, working, walking the dog, making dinner, or taking care of your kids.

In the Reiki tradition, there is an understanding that Reiki can be received in whatever way and timing is appropriate for the person.

Some people think of this as the higher self receiving the energy. That's part of how I understand distance work, too.

What Happens on My End?

Before your session, I'll ask you to send me a clear photo of your face with your eyes visible. If you have a full-length photo as well, I would appreciate that as well.

I use these photos to help me connect with you energetically during our session.

I'll be here at my home in the woods of Leicester, North Carolina.

I set aside our scheduled time specifically for you. I settle in, quiet myself, connect with you energetically, and begin offering Reiki with the same attention and care I bring to an in-person session.

After your session, I'll follow up with you by email. I'll share anything I noticed during our time together, and you're welcome to tell me about your experience or ask any questions.

A Little Privacy Can Be a Wonderful Thing

One thing I particularly appreciate about distance Reiki is that you get to stay in your own surroundings.

For people who have experienced trauma, being touched or lying on a treatment table in an unfamiliar place isn't necessarily comfortable. At home, you can choose exactly how you want to spend the time.

Your bed, your couch, your animals, your temperature, your rules.

And you don't have to explain your life to me before receiving Reiki.

You can tell me what's going on if you'd like, whether that's grief, stress, a difficult transition, or something you've been carrying for years.

Or you can simply say, “I've been having a hard time, and I'd like some Reiki.”

That's enough.

I don't need the details of your trauma, and you don't need to dig through painful experiences for my benefit.

Sometimes it's nice to receive support without having to tell your whole story.
